Smart Protection 2012 Removal

You should know that Smart Protection 2012 is a malware tool trying to imitate a good spyware protection system.
There are several signs that your computer has been infected with Smart Protection 2012. The first one being some system alert saying your PC has been infected with lots, and lots of important viruses. Whenever you click on such alert, or if you do accept it, then you will start an application looking similar to any real antispyware application. It will then run a fake virus scan, and will display many false positives, many of which are designed to look very serious. Another great sign of infection is that the execution of most.exe files will simply not work, and you will have a very restricted Internet access. This prevents users from easily installing removal tools or antivirus software.
Take into account that Smart Protection 2012 is a scam program. It will try to convince you to buy it so you will believe to be protected from all those false positive programs. Do not be intimidated. Like many other scams, Smart Protection is easily identified as being malware with a simple internet search. If an unknown and unauthorized program asks for any money for protection, or makes threats to intimidate into purchasing, it is most likely attempting to steal money or personal information.
So you can become infected in various ways, including the following: video codecs, email attachments, toolbars, unsecured networks, online virus scans, pirated files.
If you are careful when using the Internet and with your emails, then such behavious will prevent tons of infections. To protect your computer from such malware is simply not enough. To fully protect your computer system, you will need scheduled scans that are fully updated and at a professional level.
Use a removal guide or seek the help of some professional the moment you become aware you are infected with Smart Protection 2012. Consider this application as quite dangerous. It will prevent you from removing it, from accessing the Internet, or even from installing new files. It is not something quite easy to remove this application so you will need some help. You won't really be able to delete this malware by yourself even if you try to.
As much as I like free antivirus clients, I do not recommend them as a first line defence. The reason for this is they often lack either the latest virus definitions to remove virus threats or that do not provide live up front protection. Clients that do not provide up front protection do nothing at all to stop a virus from infecting your computer. It's only after the system is infected that they kick in and remove the threat.

Computer Genesis and Internet Evolution

Every great song is a continuation of a previous great song, so be it with the computer. Primitive forms of the modern-day computer originated 5000 years ago. It all started with the development of the Abacus, which gave way to the pencil and paper. This rudimentary computing style continued for thousands of years. The post-World War II era saw the first generation of what is now known as the modern-day computer. The evolution of the computer has continued its steadfast development in an accelerated manner only restricted by technological wherewithal, and possibly, human imagination.
Pencil and paper, the computing method of choice for thousands of years after the introduction of the Abacus, continued to exist until the mid-1600s; then the Pascaline was developed. This basic computer relied on movable dials for its computation functionality; however, its abilities were limited to addition only.
It was not until the mid-1800s, when Thomas Colmar developed a machine that could perform the basic arithmetic functions; it could add, subtract, multiply, and divide. This computer, called the arithometer, was widely used until the start of the First World War. Colmar along with preceding inventors Pascal, and Leibniz, is responsible for defining mechanical computation, as we know it today.
England's own Charles Babbage, mathematics professor, designed the first multi- functional computer in 1830, which he named the Analytical Engine. Although this device never was constructed, the concept was considered a breakthrough.
To deal with the expanding United States population during the late 1800's, census takers determined they needed a faster, and more comprehensive computing system. The previous census was completed in seven years, and there were fears that it would take at least 10 years to complete the latest census. In 1890 Herman Hollerith, an American inventor, improved and further developed the punch card reader as a method for storing data and reducing computational errors. Using Hollerith's invention, census takers compiled the results in less than two months! In 1927, this new computational and storage system was soon introduced into the business world, eventually becoming known as International Business Machines (IBM). This method of using punch card readers for data processing continued until 1965.
The Second World War further initiated computer development. The potential strategic importance of a computer now hastened the technological development process. This new urgency prompted the invention of the transistor in 1948, transforming the computer so drastically it was now called a supercomputer. These meant computers were now able to store programs, and programming language, which enabled them to be cost-effective and useful for the business world: Thus, the entire software industry was born.
Transistors were clearly a crucial breakthrough, but there was a serious problem; their operating temperatures were too high. As a result, the integrated circuit was developed, combining electronic components onto a small silicone disk manufactured from quartz. This small silicone disk became known as the semi- conductor. Taking it one-step further, by the 1980s thousands of components were being loaded onto a single chip, which by now is called a microprocessor. This microprocessor could be programmed to meet various requirements such as television sets, automobiles, and telephones.
IBM introduced the first personal computer (PC) in 1981. 10 years later 65 million PCs were being used. As computer usage became more widespread, linking them together or (networking) was developed to harness their potential. This enabled the computers to share memory space, software, information, and to communicate with each other. Using either cable or telephone lines, Local Area Network commonly known as (LAN), created networks of monumental proportions. Global computer circuitry, the Internet, now linked computers around the world into a single information network.
Artificial intelligence, spoken word instructions, and human reasoning are just a few of the latest modern engineering advances in computer technology. Easily understood user-friendly computer design is technologically complicated. In order to look into the "crystal ball" of the future one has to understand and appreciate how far we have come since the invention of the integrated circuit. Our imagination is our only limitation.

Electronika Bank

Intellect assists in providing security and protecting the fine reputation of the Electronika bank

The Electronika bank has set before itself the ambitious goal of creating the best network of branches and subsidiary offices. Systems based on AxxonSoft products assist in effectively providing the security of the constantly growing network

Client

Ambitious objectives and an innovative approach

Electronika joint-stock bank was founded in 1990. Initially it serviced electronic industry. Today the bank’s operations have long ago outgrown its sectoral framework, and the bank is now pursuing a new strategy aimed first off at the development of retail business and the introduction of specialized services for small and medium-sized businesses. One of the strategic objectives of the bank is the creation of the best network, not only through regional expansion, but also through a completely new organization of the retail system, personnel training, staff moral and quality of services provided

Situation

The highest security is necessary during dynamic development

Beginning in 2006 and in accordance with a new development strategy, branch offices of the Electronika bank were opened across Russia. Starting in 2007 and leading up to this day, the bank has also opened subsidiary offices offering retail and corporate services. By 2010, it has planned to open 150 retail operational offices in cities with populations of more than 200,000 people as well as more than 50 corporate offices. Under such high growth indicators, reliable security is absolutely necessary, since the reliability of the bank is the foundation of its high reputation. The new space-efficient offices require less manpower. There is no technical staff that could handle issues with the security system on the spot. In connection with this, the bank has been required to find reliable solutions for its security system which at the same time might possess the functions corresponding to the corporate demands of the bank’s security system. The demands are as follows:
  • A uniformity of solutions which employ equipment and coherence of installation approaches, an achievement that would unify the equipment, follow a singular repair stock, and provide centralized technical support to regional offices
  • Security systems should be united with the system located in the central office or, as a minimum, should have such a possibility – a unified monitoring center will allow for 24-hour control over the situation in all locations, the storage and analysis of event logs, and the remote configuration and alteration of system parameters
  • Modern technology and equipment should be utilized. This is a standard demand of any self-respecting organization. Electronika is a dynamically growing company which is keeping pace with the times and fully using the last achievements of scientific and technological progress
  • The possibility should be available to develop system functionality: equipment should, without considerable investment and through the use of simple methodology, allow for the addition of new elements, as well as offer the possibility to upgrade both the hardware and software components of the system
Besides all of these above demands, the project to equip subsidiary offices should be also economically justified. Today, success can be achieved only by strictly economizing resources, clearly defining objectives, and maintaining control over their achievement. Under these conditions, the equipment and processes should be verified, worked out and accurate; in the alternate situation, the client will be required to either employ a lower quality system that does not meet his demands, or as time passes the system will have to be modified at all locations

Choice of Solution

Effective systems and a reliable partner

Unimax Co. has worked with Electronika JSB since 2005 and has presented itself as a reliable partner. Evgenii Tur, head of security of the bank, described the relationship as such: “We have worked with Unimax for three years. The solutions offered by this company distinguish themselves through their attention to detail, are verified from every point of view, and are implemented at the highest technical level. All of the systems installed early on in the headquarters of the bank are serviced by Unimax. This has allowed us to remain worry-free about their persistent performance.”
All of the relevant circumstances and demands concerning the equipment of subsidiary offices of the bank were analyzed by specialists from Unimax during the debriefing on reaching the security objectives. The successful experience of using the security systems based on the AxxonSoft Intellect platform in the bank’s headquarters in Moscow and in several branch offices in Russia has held great significance in the selection process of security systems. As a result, PC-based VIDEOMAX video servers produced by Unimax and powered by AxxonSoft software were chosen as the stationary equipment for the video surveillance system. The VIDEOMAX video servers have been used for three years in several branch offices of the Electronika bank and have garnered high praise from personnel. Over the entire period of operation, there wasn’t a single equipment malfunction
It also was important that the solution based on the AxxonSoft products gives the client the possibility of incorporating the local systems of all branch and subsidiary offices into a united, distributed security system with a monitoring center at the headquarters in Moscow. Moreover, the Intellect powered solution can be easily expanded and modernized, and the PC-based platform is convenient for servicing stationary equipment in the regions
Client worries concerned only the possibility of a situation arising where regional service contractors would not be able to maintain the video surveillance system because of a lack of knowledge of the core platform

Implementation

An experienced partner in every region

Today, video surveillance systems powered by the Intellect platform have been equipped in more than 10 subsidiary offices of the bank. Operations tests have displayed the convenience and effectiveness of this particular solution. Client worries about the wider service community’s lack of knowledge about the product were unconfirmed, since the company AxxonSoft has a wide network of partners through the country. Companies were found in all regions that have sufficient skills to successfully operate and service the installed systems
The commercial director of UNIMAX Maksim Petrov stated, “during the realization of the project of equipping security systems in the bank’s subsidiary offices, we needed to find subcontractors who could implement the project at a sufficiently high technical level as well as those that possessed working knowledge of AxxonSoft products. The results even exceeded our expectations – in many regions, we had to choose from several companies who complied with the corporate standards of UNIMAX and the listed requirements

Effect

Reliability – the foundation of a high reputation

The introduced systems for video surveillance allow for effective control over everything that happens in the bank. Thanks to this, high levels of security and of quality of personnel work can be ensured. “Security and service quality are extremely important in the banking sphere. They are particularly important for a dynamically developing bank which has set ambitious objectives. Moreover, the client should be sure of the absolute reliability of the bank. We don’t doubt that along with other measures, the systems based on AxxonSoft products will help Electronika ensure the bank’s sound reputation thanks to their high level of security,” commented Aleksandr Unisov, the general director of the UNIMAX Co

Perspectives

A new level of quality work

The expansion of the Electronika bank into the regions is gaining speed every year. Vast experience has been accumulated through the quick launching and of subsidiary offices, and in particular, the quick deployment of all necessary engineering systems, including those related to security. All implemented measures have been verified, time necessary for resolving various questions has been kept to a minimum, a united strategy has been developed, cooperation between subcontractors has been secured, and channels of centralized supply of equipment have been established. All of this will allow the system to work effectively in the future and with a maximum return on investment. Moreover, the preparation of a technical base for a united monitoring center is being conducted in the headquarters of the bank. “AxxonSoft systems have presented us with the possibility of providing remote control over all our offices. We have high hopes for a centralized location for monitoring, since we believe that this will elevate the operations of the security system to a new level,” remarked the head of security Evgenii Tur

Associates

UNIMAX Ltd. was founded in 2004. The company began its operations with the production of the digital VIDEOMAX video servers. Today, UNIMAX offers a whole range of services: the production of equipment for VIDEOMAX video surveillance systems, project design, equipment supply, start-up, repair and maintenance of security systems
During the development of equipment solutions, all of the client’s demands are taken into consideration and studied while the company specialists employed their vast experience. At the same time, UNIMAX stands apart through its brave and unique solutions aimed at optimizing and perfecting its systems.

Samsung Officially Announces Galaxy Note Landing at AT&T

It’s official: Samsung has just announced that AT&T will be offering its Galaxy Note, bringing the device to the United States.
Samsung Galaxy Note AT&TNews broke yesterday that the Note would be making its way to AT&T, after posters displaying the device with the Ma Bell moniker were plastered around the CES convention center. The Note is already available in Asia and Europe, selling 1 million units since its release.
In addition to support for 4G LTE connectivity, the Galaxy Note will pack a faster 1.5GHz processor compared to its European variant. The 5.3-inch device will sport a Super AMOLED 1280 x 800 display and will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The device will support a proprietary active stylus called the S Pen and can be used to make phone calls.
The Galaxy Note initially came under fire for its size, as it rides the line between smartphone and tablet. Yet, despite its awkward build, the Galaxy Note earned praises for its superb display and exceptional performance in our full review.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Hitting Verizon 4G LTE, Confirmed

Samsung has just revealed that its Galaxy Tab 7.7 will soon be available on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7The company made the announcement today at the CES event in Las Vegas, confirming rumors that have been buzzing for weeks. The 7.7-inch tablet will sport a 1280 x 800 Super AMOLED Plus display and will pack an unnamed 1.4GHz dual core processor. Equipped with 1GB RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, the tablet will offer up to 32GB of space thanks to a microSD slot. The Android 3.2 Honeycomb-based device will feature an infrared transmitter, a 3MP AF camera with flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter. Like all of Sammy’s slates, the LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab 7.7 will have the TouchWiz UI onboard, along with the company’s media and social hubs, as well as Peel Smart Remote, Wi-Fi Direct and AllShare.
Weighing in at 12 ounces, the device will be relatively lightweight and will be offered with optional accessories, including a keyboard dock, a multimedia dock, a USB/SD adapter kit, a book cover case and an HDTV adapter. In addition to Verizon’s LTE network, the Samsung slate will also feature support for Wi-Fi a/b/g/n.
During our hands on with the tablet at IFA back in September, the most striking feature was definitely the Super AMOLED Plus screen, which blew away the displays of competitors like the iPad 2 and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1. During a comparison of inside and outdoors, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 held up in all lighting conditions.
Samsung neglected to mention pricing or availability, but we will be sure to keep you posted as the story develops.

Samsung Galaxy Note and S Pen Hands On: The PDA, Smartphone, Tablet Combo

Few tablets have generated as much buzz at CES 2012 as the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Note, even though the product was first launched at IFA in Berlin last September. It was difficult to secure hands-on time with the device during the first official day of the event due to the crowd of attendees at the Samsung booth. The team at TabletPCReview is undeterred by lines however, and managed some quality time with the 5.3-inch tablet/smartphone/PDA combo, with a particular focus on the Note’s defining feature, its PDA-style pen stylus.

Samsung Galaxy NoteWhen we reviewed the Galaxy Note last month, we concentrated on the hardware, including its dual-core performance and crisp Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. With that aside, it’s time to take a closer look at what Samsung calls the S Pen.

If Not Wacom, Then What?

Samsung reps were adamant in claiming the Galaxy Note’s small stylus is a proprietary piece of technology, though reports from users on the TabletPCReview forums reveals that other Wacom-toting tablets recognize its input. So which is it?

This much we do know: the S Pen is small and reminiscent of the PDA picks from a time before smartphones. It easily and securely docks in a small hole on the bottom of the Galaxy Note, and despite its size, is still very comfortable to hold for scribbling and notes.

Multi-use Pen

Samsung Galaxy Note S PenThe S Pen has 256-points of pressure sensitivity in its plastic tip, and can be used to navigate the device, grab screenshots, and of course scribble and take notes. The Galaxy Note ships with a flexible S Memo app, which is very similar to the notes app found on the HTC Flyer in that it features multiple input styles (marker, pencil, pen, eraser, etc) coupled with the ability to import pictures. The pen can also be used for photo manipulation and cropping, and Samsung had app developers on hand that developed programs to do just that using Samsung’s S Pen SDK, including the brains behind ComicBook, a comic book creation app already popular for iOS, and Touchnote, a postcard creator also available for iOS.

Note taking is comfortable, and the Galaxy Note seems to have at least some form of palm rejection (Samsung reps couldn’t confirm), though my palm did once or twice errantly activate the Android back and home softkeys while using the Note in landscape mode.

Samsung Galaxy NoteA Note specific keyboard can be easily accessed with a quick icon tap, and it has a limited handwriting recognition feature that can convert whole handwritten words into text and insert them into a memo or text box. It’s accurate, but a bit clumsy owing to the fact that it’s hidden in the keyboard, and not nearly as useful as the handwriting recognition feature on the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet notes app and Windows 7 devices. Hopefully, enterprising app developers can leverage the pen SDK for a more useful implementation.

Interestingly, the S Pen features a single button, which didn’t have any particular function for the demo units on the show floor. A chat with a Note app developer revealed that Samsung specifically requested the devs not use the feature prior to the show, suggesting the Samsung Galaxy Note will ship with a buttonless stylus. That or Samsung is still trying to figure out what to do with it.
Galaxy Note Specs

The Galaxy Note is as thin and light as any high-end smartphone on the market, and seems smaller than its 5.3-inch screen would suggest. Technically speaking, it measures 5.8 x 3.2 x .4-inches and weighs .4 pounds. I certainly would have no issue with using as an everyday smartphone. For the US release on the AT&T 4G LTE network, Samsung bumped up the processor from a 1.4GHz dual-core chip on the international unit to a 1.5GHz dual-core unit.

Samsung Galaxy NoteThe Samsung Galaxy Note features Android Gingerbread 2.3 along with Samsung Touchwiz, and Samsung reps would not confirm an Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update, but the smart money suggests Samsung will update the Note to the latest Android version. It features 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard capacity, expandable an extra 32GB through microSD storage. It has a 2-megapixel front- and 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash, and the units on display at CES had a 2,500mAH replaceable battery.

No Release Date Yet

Samsung did not announce pricing, nor did they announce a specific release date. Reps did claim it is coming in the near future, and given the device is now four months old, I’m guessing they are still working out the details with AT&T and not the hardware.
